Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe Reentry Programming
A compassionate approach to Reentry, empowering clients through hope, dignity, and a second chance at a better life.
In 2013, the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe approved what would become a revolutionary take on Re-Entry. Re-Entry provides healing, hope, and opportunities for those who have been incarcerated to become contributing members of society and embrace a positive future through connections, storytelling, culture, and community. This short documentary is about the people who are a part of the program.
Listen to program manager Janel McFeat Broderson talk about The Welcome Home Project on the Arise Podcast:
Reentry provides healing, hope, and opportunities for those who are and have been incarcerated. The end goal is to give these individuals the tools to become contributing members of society and embrace the possibility of a positive future—through connections, storytelling, culture, and community.
Driven by a holistic approach, the program recognizes that individual success is not one- size-fits-all: for every client, the journey begins with a Risk & Needs Assessment to help tailor services and support.
